Work with me!

Initial Consultation

In this session we’ll get to know each other and set the foundation for our work together. I’ll assess the physical, nutritional, mental, emotional, social, environmental and spiritual factors impacting your or your family’s relationship to food and movement.

We’ll discuss your current challenges and establish realistic goals, with consideration for your lifestyle, values, health status, and dietary preferences.

Follow-Up Sessions

In these sessions we’ll work together to create incremental, sustainable changes in nutrition and lifestyle, with the goal of establishing a positive and healthful approach to food.

You will guide what support you need in this process from the options provided.  Each time we meet we’ll review your struggles and strengths, revise or create actionable goals, and celebrate your wins!

Frequently Asked Questions

I’m not a woman or parent, can I still work with you?

Yes! I enjoy working with clients across the gender spectrum.

How does family nutrition counseling work?

Typically, I meet with one or both caregivers first. In follow-up sessions your child may join us, if appropriate to your family’s care. Teenagers may be included in family sessions, or seen on their own.

Can you help with weight loss?

The desire to lose weight is valid, and one that I approach with compassion and an open mind. A modest reduction in bodyweight of 5-10% can improve cardiometabolic health, quality of life, and physical functioning for people with obesity. That being said, restrictive diets may have a negative impact on overall health or psychological wellbeing - and often don’t provide permanent results. I help clients find a safe, sane, and sustainable strategy. We focus on behavior change and healthy habits instead of calories and the scale. I also support clients who choose to pursue surgical and pharmacological treatments for weight loss, and want to simultaneously improve their relationship to food.

Are all sessions in office?

Not necessarily! I love doing experiential nutrition counseling including grocery store visits, mindful movement (like walking during the appointment), and cooking instruction in your home.

Do you accept health insurance?

I am not currently in-network with any insurance providers. However, many clients are able to get reimbursed by their insurance company after submitting a superbill I’ll provide post-session.
